Goodbye 2019…

by | lifestyle | 0 comments

This has definitely been quite the year. I think I’ve started 12 posts and only posted two. But that’s ok. Better to spend time healing then to get lost in busyness and miss the important things. I won’t miss this decade, but I am still thankful for all I’ve learned and the people God has placed in my life.

There is something that has become so apparent to me as I’ve talked to the Lord for the last 365 days. It has helped me make sense of my entire life really. If you’re isolated, you are an easy target for the enemy. So, join a church, join a small group, find people to do life with. It has been a life changer for me and I will share more of my walk with you in 2020, but for now, I beg you…don’t isolate – even if you just start out by connecting with me or others on social media. OH! And remember, you truly are who you surround yourself with, so if you’re making compromises to be around a certain person or group of people, evaluate what that really does for you.

We moved in 2019 and we surrounded ourselves with people who understand grace and mercy, pride themselves on speaking truth in love and who KNOW YOU and NO YOU! And most important they are walking the same walk we are. We stand together, we battle together, we rejoice together. That is what I was missing. That is what is making me whole again.

I hope 2019 has been a blessing for you, but I know there are some who have suffered loss, pain and unimaginable betrayal. To those, I am so sorry. I’ve been on both sides of all of those, the one who suffered and the one who dealt the suffering. It’s never easy and the internal battles faced on either side of the coin is difficult. But it’s easier to recover with likeminded friends who can journey with you.

I pray the new year and decade brings you hope. Hope for a future, hope for healing, hope for new relationships and friendships. And if possible, hope for restoration. Hope for a new level of grace and intimacy with our Lord.
