Festival Recovery

It’s become a tradition that every Labor Day weekend is spent at Gulf Coast Jam in Panama City Beach.  Their line up of country music artists is always epic and it’s not something you want to miss.  However, after being in the sun for 10 hours a day for 3 days straight, inhaling ridiculous amounts of second hand smoke and of course filling your belly with “festival food and drink” your skin is left looking less than satisfactory and you just feel like crap.

I am going to share with you my steps for a full body recovery routine – I pretty much do this after any long weekend I have where I have been less than nice to my skin and body.

1) Drink lots of water.
During festivals I am definitely not drinking enough water.  So I will drink an extra bottle or two per day for the next 5 days to help.  This not only flushes out my system, but also helps rehydrate my skin.  I am on a monthly cycle of auto ship through Amazon Prime for the Life Water.  If I know I have something big coming up, I’ll just add an extra case to my direct ship.

2) Pedialyte.
I am not even kidding.  If you feel sluggish, tired, thirsty, have a headache or just feel plain exhausted, drink a bottle of Pedialyte.  It’s made to keep children hydrated through illness and I promise you that it will help do the trick.

3) Exfoliate.
I have a few favorites here, but my all time favorite for after festival activities is the Farmhouse Fresh Sand Your Ground.  The medium-grain powdered volcanic pumice polishes skin smooth, while Red Arizona Montmorillonite Clay absorbs bacteria and toxins. Willow Bark Extract brings a refreshing feel that soothes skin to a poreless-looking finish.  It never fails – whenever I use this, my face is literally glowing and I feel like all of the gunk from the weekend is G-O-N-E.

4) Radiant Skin Mud Mask
Not sure if you’ve heard of this company, but Real Raw Beauty is one of the best organic, skincare lines in my very humble opinion. You will LOVE this mask. It is straight from the Dead Sea infused with Activated Charcoal. There are no preservatives or additives in this pure jar of Activated Charcoal Mud. This mud is rich in mineral content and it will penetrate deep into the layers of your skin and cause it to look healthier and brighter. It will minimize and unclog your pores and effectively remove toxins and pollutants – which is exactly what my skin needs after a weekend like this.

5) Radiant A Serum.
Also from Real Raw Beauty; Radiant-A, full of natural Retinol’s, is a blend of pure 100% organic unrefined oils, Rosehip, Tamanu, Prickly Pear and Carrot Seed, that when applied to your face will work at a cellular level to improve your skins appearance. By assisting in the promotion of collagen and elastin levels, Radiant A supports the production of new skin tissue. These amazing Organic oils will renew, replenish, and hydrate your skin and reverse sun damage and scarring while protecting your skin from wrinkles.  You definitely want this in your arsenal for use every night, but also after a long weekend in the sun.

6) Oribe Gold Lust Treatment.
I am obsessed with this treatment, plus the smell is so dreamy. This treatment brings damaged locks back to life. This rejuvenating pre-shampoo treatment balm melts into hair, deeply moisturizing and repairing while protecting against harsh aggressors such as washing, styling and pollution. I experience softness and beautiful shine when I use this product before my daily Oribe shampoo and conditioner.

7) Foot Massager.
There is nothing worse than the pain of standing on your feet, jumping around, dancing like a fool for three days, but it’s SOOOO worth it.  I bought this foot massager last year on Amazon and I am soooo happy I did.

8) Honey Heel Glaze.
This product is Ah-may-zing!  This divine honey-based moisture serum seals in moisture and brings rich color back to tired feet. Simply brush on and rub into feet for chalkless bliss – no more white ashy look!  After my foot massage, I will coat my feet in this delicious smelling glaze, put socks on and put my feet up!

That’s about it! I will give y’all some highlights of Gulf Coast Jam soon, but this recovery plan has been on my mind lately since I have been doing it all last week.

Let me know if you have any of these products and what you love the most!
